Welcome to BTCFi Summer: Announcing the First Batch of BSNs

July 16, 2025

School is out, markets are hot, and your sats will be getting an upgrade.

Babylon Genesis is rolling out its initial Bitcoin Supercharged Networks (BSNs) soon!

Quick refresher: What is a BSN?

A Bitcoin Supercharged Network is any chain or rollup that integrates with the Babylon Bitcoin staking protocol to inherit three things:

  1. Bitcoin staking security (slashable, PoS-grade finality)
  2. Bitcoin liquidity
  3. Instant access to Bitcoin-native users who want rewards without custody risk, bridging, or wrapping.

The results? Significantly enhanced economic security, on-chain BTC TVL, increased DeFi volume, and greater network activity.

In return, each BSN gives something back:

  • Staking rewards are paid straight to BTC stakers.
  • New BTCFi venues that let BTC move, lend, borrow, and trade.

BSNs power all three layers of BTCFi: the staking layer, the liquidity layer, and the execution layer. Any decentralized network can apply, which means the list below is just the warm-up round.

As a BTC holder and staker, why should you care?

  • Reward stacking: Collect rewards from multiple BSNs.
  • Security without sacrifice: You remain in control of your keys, unbonding takes about two days.
  • A growing BTCFi universe: More places where BTC can be put to work.

Meet the first-wave BSNs

BSN Network Snapshot
Cosmos Chain Osmosis
Osmosis is the leading Cosmos DEX, with over $41 billion in trading volume across Bitcoin and assets from 100+ IBC-connected chains.
TAC
TAC is a purpose-built blockchain for EVM DeFi dApps to access TON and Telegram Ecosystem’s 1B+ user base.
Union
Union is a hyper-efficient interoperability protocol that's connecting all ecosystems. Union received over 244M testnet transactions and $43M bridged TVL on mainnet in the first month.
Other L1s Sui
Sui is a fast, scalable Layer 1 powering rich on-chain assets - now with 15% of TVL in BTCfi.
Arbitrum Stack BirdLayer
BirdLayer is an Arbitrum Orbit-powered Layer 3 network, an omni-trading interoperability platform that enables lightning speed, low-cost & secure transactions.
Corn
Corn is an Ethereum L2 with $1B+ in pre-mainnet deposits. Corn is a BTCFi network, using BTCN (tokenized BTC) for gas to merge Ethereum’s power with Bitcoin’s value.
NodeOps
NodeOps Network is a leading, AI-powered DePIN coordination layer, managing over $150M and serving 700k+ users across 60+ blockchain ecosystems.
Plume
Plume is the leading RWA chain designed to onboard the masses with the highest number of unique RWA holders to date.
OP Stack BOB
BOB is a Gateway to Bitcoin DeFi with $200M+ TVL. It combines BitVM bridging for native BTC DeFi, 1-click Bitcoin staking, multi-chain BTC yield, and integrations with tier 1 DeFi dapps and institutions - all secured by a unique hybrid chain design and billions of dollars of staked Bitcoin.
Manta Network
Manta is pushing beyond traditional L2 infrastructure to explore AI, fintech, and other avenues that can bridge Web2 and Web3, with a focus on sustainable products and more practical use cases to drive real growth.

How rewards work

  1. Stake BTC to one Finality Provider per BSN on the Babylon dashboard.
  2. BSNs send their own native tokens, or a token of their choice, as rewards to Babylon Genesis.
  3. Babylon Genesis skims a tiny protocol fee and forwards the rest to you.
  4. BTC stakers receive the rewards as long as their bitcoin remains staked.

What’s ahead?

Babylon’s 2025 roadmap spotlights two game-changing features: full EVM capability and native Bitcoin multi-staking.

EVM support arrives on Babylon Genesis testnet in Q3 and mainnet in Q4, opening Genesis to Solidity developers and the vast library of Ethereum DeFi protocols.

Multi-staking rolls out on the same schedule, allowing a single Bitcoin (or fraction of a Bitcoin!) to secure several BSNs simultaneously and receive their native rewards straight to your self-custody wallet.
