Just a few days ago, Tower DEX has been announced as the first, native decentralized exchange to be released on top of Babylon Genesis, aiming to enhance Bitcoin liquidity within the BTCFi ecosystem.
What is Tower DEX?
Tower DEX is meant to meet the growing demand for efficient and decentralized trading. The idea behind it is that by integrating advanced liquidity mechanisms, governance models, and incentive structures, Tower DEX would provide a seamless trading experience within the BTCFi ecosystem.
Key Features as announced by the Tower team:
- Vote-Escrowed Tokenomics – $TWR holders would be able to stake tokens to gain voting power, influence liquidity incentive mechanisms, and direct the distribution of swap fees.
- Concentrated Liquidity Pools – Liquidity providers can allocate tokens within specific swap ranges, maximizing efficiency and potential rewards.
- “Bribe” Marketplace – External projects and participants can offer incentives to direct liquidity provision where demand is highest.
- NFT Liquidity Positions – Liquidity positions would be tokenized as ERC-721 NFTs, making them transferable and usable as building blocks in DeFi.
- Protocol-Governed Fee Distribution – A governance-driven system ensures sustainable fee allocation and grant handling, optimizing long-term ecosystem growth.
Who is on the Leadership Team?
Tower Labs is led by co-founders Valeyo and 0xlaurens, both of whom have extensive experience in blockchain infrastructure and decentralized finance.
Valentin Pletnev (Co-Founder): With a background in DeFi and digital assets, Valentin co-founded Quasar Finance, a Cosmos-based yield and liquidity management protocol. His experience in structured liquidity products and DeFi innovation has shaped the vision for Tower DEX.
Laurens (Co-Founder): Laurens has been at the forefront of blockchain development, contributing to major DeFi projects. His technical expertise and deep understanding of liquidity mechanisms have played a key role in designing Tower DEX as a highly efficient and scalable trading platform.
What’s Next for Tower?
In its initial phase, Tower DEX will launch BabyDEX on the CosmWasm instance, a preliminary product that sets the foundation for Tower’s full capabilities. This early iteration will focus on trading efficiency, offering both XYK (traditional AMM pools) and PCL (passive concentrated liquidity) pools without a native DEX token.
As additional features roll out, the $TWR token, governance models, and incentive mechanisms will launch, driving major liquidity inflows and deepening BTCFi’s integration with Ethereum’s DeFi ecosystem.
