We’re excited to announce that Babylon Bitcoin staking Cap-3 is launching on December 10th!
This launch is bringing a new set of opportunities to stake BTC. In this blog, we will summarize the different ways you can participate.
Important: This is a compilation of information and not an endorsement of any specific participation method. Please do your own research before participating in Babylon Bitcoin staking.
About Cap-3
Following the success of Cap-1 and Cap-2, we are opening Cap-3 for more people to participate. Here is a summary:
- Duration-based: Cap-3 will run for 1,000 Bitcoin blocks (~ 1 week), starting from BTC block 874088. All valid staking transactions within this timeframe will be accepted.
- Increased limit: The maximum amount per staking transaction is increased to 5,000 BTC.
These settings should help prevent transaction fees from increasing during Cap-3. Find out more details about Cap-3.
Different ways to participate
With a crypto wallet
If you wish to participate in Babylon bitcoin staking in a self-custodial manner, you can stake with a wallet through the BTC staking dashboard:
- Go to the dashboard: Visit the BTC Staking Dashboard.
- Connect Your Wallet: Connect one of the wallets that support staking (more info below).
- Choose a Finality Provider (FP): Select a FP to delegate your Bitcoin to. Of note, delegation refers to the delegation of PoS voting power to the FP, which is a common feature of PoS protocols. Your bitcoin is NOT transferred to the FP.
- Stake: Follow the instructions to stake your desired amount of bitcoin.
Of note: You can instruct the Babylon bitcoin staking protocol to unbond your staked Bitcoin at any time.
Supported wallets for the BTC staking dashboard
To make participating in Cap-3 as easy as possible, a variety of leading wallet providers are integrating Babylon staking features. Some wallets may even be running special campaigns or promotions to encourage participation.

Disclaimer: You cannot stake using the BTC staking dashboard or participate in Babylon bitcoin staking using the other methods described below if you’re from certain restricted territories or excluded jurisdictions. Please refer to the Terms of Use for more information.
Non-dashboard wallets
Mobile and MPC wallets offer self-contained staking UX. These options allow you to participate in staking directly, bypassing the BTC staking dashboard for a simplified process.
- Mobile wallets:
- Binance Web3 Wallet – Campaign: rewards to top 50 stakers by volume & 16K stakers by random draw.
- imToken – Campaign: rewards to first 100 stakers (FCFS) & top 10 stakers by volume.
- Gate Web3 Wallet – Campaign: rewards to all BTC stakers to share $50,000 BTC proportionally based on BTC staking value
Other mobile wallets supporting Bitcoin staking are CoinEX Wallet, Leap and Unisat (coming soon).
- MPC wallets:
Keep an eye out for announcements from the wallet providers running campaigns for more instructions and participation guidelines.
Due to operational reasons, wallet providers must add their support for bitcoin staking for it to function with their wallet. If your wallet isn't currently supported, you can transfer the BTC you wish to stake to a wallet that does support bitcoin staking using the Babylon protocol. This is a simple transfer of BTC and does not require you to share your seed phrase or private keys.
With exchange Earn programs
For those who prefer the convenience of centralized exchanges (CEXs), you might have the option to participate in Babylon Cap-3 as a customer of one of the following platforms:
- Binance announced their support for Babylon Bitcoin staking, and users can stake their BTC through the platform.
- Bitrue now supports Babylon Bitcoin staking, allowing users to stake their BTC on the platform.
While Binance and Bitrue are currently the only confirmed exchanges, keep an eye out for announcements from other major platforms. More CEXs may add support for Babylon Cap-3 staking in the near future.
With liquid staking token (LST) protocols
You can also participate in Babylon Bitcoin staking through LST protocols that participate in the Babylon Bitcoin staking mainnet, like:
Please note that by participating in LST protocols, you do not directly participate in the Babylon Bitcoin staking mainnet, as the staking and points are both handled by the LST protocols.
Importantly, we do not review or endorse LSTs, LST code, or any other participants in the ecosystem including any third party services, so exercise caution and do your own investigations and research before using them. As a general rule, stakers must always conduct their own investigations and research before participating in the Bitcoin blockchain or in Bitcoin staking. Legal Note about Points: points are not available in many jurisdictions, including the U.S.A. Points are not, and may never convert to, accrue to, be used as basis to calculate, or become any tokens or other digital assets. Points are virtual items with no monetary value. Points do not constitute any currency or property of any type and are not redeemable, refundable, or eligible for any fiat or virtual currency or anything else of value. Points are not transferable, and you may not attempt to sell, trade, or transfer any points, or obtain any manner of credit
With custodians
If you hold your Bitcoin with a digital asset custodian, you may also have the option to participate in Babylon Cap-3 through them.
